Starting A Fire With Flint And Steel

In this video we will look at the technique for starting a fire with flint and steel. We talk about the tinder bundle, and about using the flint and steel to ignite an ember in char cloth, We then use that ember to produce flame. This is one survival skill that should be in every woodsman’s toolbox!

You can find the Flint and Steel set I used in the video HERE.

You can also find some on Amazon HERE and HERE and HERE.

Pathfinder School Basic Class Equipment List

In this video we’ll go over the Pathfinder School Basic Class Equipment List, and what items I took with me for the Basic Survival class on October 12th through 14th, 2018. Dave Canterbury teaches that you should always take the “10 C’s of Survival” with you when you go into the woods- Cover, Cutting Tool, Container, Combustion Device, Cordage, Cloth and Repair items, Candling Device, Compass, Cargo Tape, and last but by no means least, a Compass.

Pathfinder School Basic Survival Class- Lessons Learned

In this video, Pathfinder School Basic Survival Class- Lessons Learned, I give an overview of my experience at the Pathfinder School, and talk about some of the things I learned, despite having to leave the class on the first night. I highly recommend this class, but there are some things that you NEED to know before you sign up… and more importantly, you need to take them SERIOUSLY!
